It's difficult to assess software when starting out because a lot of the features that are advertised to you are pointless. If it's the latter, then Movie Studio and Movie Edit are both fine. It's free (for personal use) but is a genuinely professional product - learning it will stand you in good stead for all future work. If it's the former, go and get DaVinci Resolve. Do you want to go on to learn how to edit to a professional level or are you primarily interested in making a few videos for yourself? I would say that the thing to consider is what you ultimately want to do. I haven't used either of these and, when I was a beginner, it was 25 years ago and the software I used doesn't exist anymore.
